Hunt for the Wilderpeople

 Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about Hunt for the Wilderpeople. We did another SEXXXY writing but this time we get to pick our own topic. SEXXY paragraph is 

This is what I did: My topic is describe at least one way a character changed throughout the film. I saw this in the the beginning of the film when Ricky was graffitiing, theft, vandalizing ECT.  Ricky went to the farm and had his time there. Hec was really angry and he didn’t like Ricky Baker. This makes the audience feel bored, now that he is in the farm he can’t do much. Hec in the film is the grumpy guy, this makes the audience feel judgmental because they will think that Hec is always grumpy. The director included this in the film so it wouldn't  be boring. Each  character has a different personality. The light is really light and colorful, this shows the adventure that they are going through. The camera angle that was mostly used at the film was the two angle. In the end of the movie Ricky didn’t want to leave Hec. Hec also changed, he showed his happiness and proudness for the first time.  The Audience's opinion this was one of the best bits of the film because it was quite funny how they act. They sometimes look confused, angry and happy. I like the film Hunt for the Wilderpeople. 

I learnt how to make SEXXXY paragraphs like the one that I did on this blog post. This helped my writing by writing what happened and keep doing it. My favorite part of the film study is when we are assigned to watch the movie Hunt for the Wilderpeople  because its fun. I also liked making the SEXXXY paragraphs about them.

ESOL

Greetings everyone, 

Some fun things that we are doing here in ESOL is doing the quiz. We get to work in teams, we have 10 people in our team and the other has 8. We do some competitions about naming books and naming the characters on them. Another thing that we do on esol that is fun is that we get to do some blogs. Blogging on ESOL is really cool because we can show out learning to other people. The last thing that is fun for me at ESOL is that all my Filipino friends are here learning together with me. 

Fast finisher Tasks.

 Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about our fast finisher tasks. Fast finisher tasks are for the pupils that are have finished all their work but these tasks are not work. There are just activities to do while we are waiting for the others to finish their task and move on to another topic.  Here is the first task that I did.

1. How old is Ricky? Ricky Baker turned 13 years old when he was at the farm and now he is a teenager.

2. Describe what he looks like. Ricky Baker is a fat kid, he wears multiple jackets at he same time. He has a long hair.

3. Explain what Ricky is interested in and how he spends his time. He likes listening to raps, he loves playing with his dog called Tupac.

4. What are some of the things that Ricky worries about? He is worried about going to the juvenile, he is also worried about getting taken by the foster care. Identify and explain an example from the film.

The Last Day Of My Life

 Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about our task the 100 word challenge! We read our book for 20 minutes and we looked for some interesting words that we haven't seen or don't know what means yet. I picked Broad, Ivory and governing. These words are really interesting for me because it is my first time hearing them. Our next task is to make a 100 word story with the 3 words in it. I wrote the story in my book and now I'm going to be transferring it to my blog. The title of my book is " The Last Day Of My Life. Here it is: I think it's the last day of my life, I'm a big thief. I tried to steal  Ivory because I knew it will change my life if I sold it for good price. In my era today, there are a lot of thieves. Thieves are governing the whole world. Half of the world are robot cops, every time they would see someone they would shoot them. I got caught, when I looked behind me there was a guy that was very big and broad. I got up, there was lasers pointing at my head. It was the last thing I saw.

ESOL 23 march 2021

 321 RIQ. It's what we should put and do on our blogs. The first one is 3R which means 3 Recalls. Recall means what we remember and that's what we put on. The next one is 2I, It means 2 insights. Insight is what we learnt and understand we need to put 2 insights on our blog. The last one is 1Q, which means 1 question. 1 question I have about something I didn't understand or still want to know more about.  So 3 recalls, three things that I remember is doing the hot potato, we write one word and pass the paper, we tried to make a good story using the hot potato method. It turned our really bad, there was a lot of negative in it like the words gay and bisexual. Another one that I can remember is making a story use letters a to z for example you first letter is a and the next letter is b. It keeps going on like the alphabet and you need to make a story using it. The last one that I can remember is reading the hot potato stories, with the negative it still was really funny but our teacher didn't like some of it. I learnt to cooperate more with others and I also gained confidence by talking to new friends. Have you played hot potato before? SEXXXY Pharagraph

Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about Hunt for the Wilder people. I did a SEXXXY paragraph about it but I did more. Here is what I did: In the movie hunt for the wilder people, long shots and the two shots are used really well. The two shots demonstrated when Ricky was talking to hec and when they were doing some actions. The long shots were used when they showed Ricky standing then Hec and Bella standing in the background. When Bella died Hec and Ricky got more furious with each other,  Ricky Baker is a really dangerous kid, he burns stuff, graffiti walls and break mail posts, he was a foster child, he is the main character in the story or the protagonist, he doesn’t care about anything or anyone because he is alone in life, he is 13 years old, one of his best friends died, he’s got a dog on his birthday - it’s he’s 1st birthday that got celebrated. Bella is the aunty, she has a husband named Hec. She hunts wild animals like wild boars, she doesn't have any conflicts with anyone. 

 Bella died in Ricky’s third day on the house, she has a cool sense of humor, she grew up in the bush, she believes that when she dies she will go somewhere, she is another protagonist, she loves ricky, they couldn’t have their own baby. 

Hec is the uncle, he is always grumpy. He always has a conflict with Ricky because he doesn’t like him, he was in jail for manslaughter, he isn’t welcome, he can’t read, after Bella passed away he went into a darker mood, he had a dog called Zag. Hec tried to eliminate Ricky by choking him. They had a 3 day break, they ate food that nature provides like fish, eels  and vegetables.  This creates a conflict because they are getting chased by the government and it will make them run away or get away slowly.  Ricky made a wooden supporter for Hec’s leg, they walked and walked till they came over to a cabin. They went in and they were some supplies, they took some and put it in their bags. They were found by some hunters and they tried to take them. 

Ricky settling on - Ricky settling on on the farm was a really big conflict for him. I think this is because when he was in the city there were more fun things to do rather than being on a farm. He was taken to this family because they wanted a kid or daughter, and also because of his crimes like theft, vandalism and graffiti.  On his first day when he was there he was really bored and couldn’t do anything. Ricky is a Tupac loving kid. On his first day with the family they ate some pie and Ricky thought it was good. They all went to bed, Ricky couldn’t sleep and he had an Idea. He tried to get away but only got 200 yards away. 

Ricky burning the barn-  Ricky was trying to run away from Hec, this all happened after Bella died. He made a replica of himself using his clothes, and for the head he used a watermelon. He burnt the replica and it catched on fire, there was a lot of dead grass or hei on the flood and the fire spread quickly. He ran away as fast as he could because if Hec sees him he knows he will kill him. He got to the bush and he didn’t know what to do. He was starving and he was imagining things like there were food. He saw some fried chicken but it was Hec. He was apologizing as hard as he can to Hec and he said that to move on.  We also made a google slide, we wrote in some key ideas and it is what helped us do the SEXXXY paragraphs. We are doing this to learn about our history and to know what happened back then. I put some facts about the influenza virus and here it is:  It's started at 1918 when the first world war was still ongoing. The Flue traveled with a deadly speed, its was worst because it was happening the same time: First world war, the soldiers went home to their home country and they didn't know the there was the influenza virus. The soldiers we're the one that accidentally spread it in the whole world . Soon people were also dying in South Africa, Japan, China, Peru, Greece, and Italy. Pandemic means: An outbreak of disease across a country, a continent, or the world. This virus targeted the immune system  influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat, and sometimes the lungs. Influenza is a virus, a very simple micro-organism that need a host to survive. When a person is infected with an influenza virus, their immune system responds by creating antibodies so it can fight back. Here is a picture of Antigenic Shift and Antigenic Drift.  The Antigenic shift means that two viruses combine to make a stronger one.

Heart Dissection.

 Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about Biology. We our going to be dissecting hearts.  Our aim is to dissect the hearts, we are doing this to learn the heart parts so we know about them.  I think that it will be messy because there is a lot of blood. I think we are going to use cloves to dissect them so it doesn't get messy. The hearts the  we are  going to be dissecting are sheep hearts. We opened the right side first into the middle. We saw some valves, strings and the septum .Pulmonary means something about he lungs and last one is, a septum is Septum, heart: The septum of the heart is the dividing wall between the right and left sides of the heart, heart strings are Anatomical terminology. The chordae tendineae (tendinous cords),  known as the heart strings, are tendon-resembling fibrous cords of connective tissue that connect the papillary muscles to the tricuspid valve and the mitral valve in the heart. . The next thing we did was cut the heart in 2 pieces. The heart was really smelly, that was all we did. We put hearts back in the tray and cleaned the classroom up. It didn't end in a really good note because there was a piece of heart in the ceilings. It was really funny but now we can't do any dissections now. If we tell miss who did it, we are going to be carrying on dissecting things.

• Taha tinana (physical wellbeing) physical well being is lifestyle behavior choices to ensure health and to live in a balanced state of body, mind, and spirit.  What can affect you physical well being? Poor physical well being can affect your mental health or it will increase developing your mental health. Poor mental health can deeply impact to your physical well being. How you can live a healthy physical well being is to doing exercise. Some more is to Maintain a healthy weight.
• Engage in muscle strengthening (resistance) activities that involve all your major muscle groups two or more times a week.
• Stay active all week long. 
• Wear comfortable, properly fitting shoes.
• Eat a well-balanced diet. 
• Try to avoid lifting heavy objects. - if you keep lifting too heavy objects you might not grow properly. 

• Taha hinengaro (mental wellbeing) mental well being is a state of well being that an individual realizes. What can affect your mental well being? 
• childhood abuse, trauma, or neglect.
• social isolation or loneliness.
• experiencing discrimination and stigma. Stigma means disgrace, dishonor. 
• social disadvantage, poverty or debt.
• bereavement  losing someone close to you
• severe or long-term stress. 
• Avoiding to have and do these things will give you a really open mind and a good mental health. 

• Taha wairua (spiritual wellbeing) Spiritual well being is a skill or an ability to experience and integrate the meaning and the purpose of life. What can affect your spiritual wellbeing? Poor spiritual well being is caused by having no respect and beliefs. Spiritual well being is one of the most important wellbeing because it can affect your whole entire life. You can overcome this by having beliefs like : You listen and believe to your parents because they are your eldest in the family.

• Taha whānau (family wellbeing) or Social (wellbeing) Taha whanau or Social well being is having respect, empathy and tolerance for other people. Being able to manage emotions to suit the situation. What can negatively affect your Taha whanau or Social wellbeing? Spending too much time alone might give you a sickness called social phobia.  

 Louise and Josh have been best friends for the last 9 years. They both started at Hornby High School at the same time and were even in the same class. At the end of term 1, Josh started going out with a new student called Leon. Louise has felt really left out and frustrated with Josh since he started going out with Leon. Josh hardly spends any time with Louise anymore. This is one of the scenarios and I need to write how the main characters are being affected. As it says, Louise had fell really left our and frustrated with josh since he started spending more time with his other friend. I also need to write one how the main character can overcome it. Louise is feeling left out, it affects her social well being of taha whanau and it also effects his mental and emotional well being witch it taha hinengaro. The I have felt left out before but my friends came back for me. I overcame it by talking not to just my friends but to other people. This is the end of my blog post and I hope you like it. ESOL STORY

 Hello readers, today I'm going to be making a new blog post about ESOL. Today we did a really challenging challenge. We need to put in the 3 words in a story, the three words are the words that Miss Truter wrote.  Here is the story that I wrote. Today we learnt a word and it is called contemplate, contemplate means look thoughtfully for a long time at. I went to lunch time and talked about the word contemplate with my friends. I asked them what they contemplate. My friend Jack said that he contemplate his image in the mirror. We all went back to our classes and had Wananga, we learnt a word and it is called courageous, courageous means brave. We need to be courageous or brave because acting bravely generally makes us feel good because it involves mastering our emotions. We did some work on a blog post and wrote about what we're scared of the most. I wrote down that I was scared of big spiders because they look disgusting. Wananga was our last period of school, so after Wananga, we all left the school and went home. When I was biking, I saw some people selling some cornucopia. A cornucopia is a kind of  container that is shaped like a goat horn. It looks really cool because it’s an artwork. I think that the workers that are working really hard so I bought 2 cornucopias to put our fruits into.  I went home and I showed them to my parents and they didn’t know what it was. I explained to them about what a cornucopia is.  

ESOL ALTHLETICS

 Hello readers toady I'm going to be making a new blog post about Athletics. We have a task for ESOL and we need to make a blogpost about what we did yesterday for athletics. At first we had Wananga, the bell rang and then all the competitive students went to the field. I saw my friends and I was really glad they we're doing the athletics with me. My first thing I was meant to  do was high jump, it was really late. So we did sprints instead, sprints is the worst one for me. I was versing my friends and they we're really fast. In sprints I came fourth, I thought that it was ok to be the fourth one, at least I tried. The next thing we did was discuss, it was my most favorite one. The teacher told us that she will give us 3 tries and she was going to mark the last try. I did my first one, it went really far. I went back of the line because I was the first one in the group to do it. I saw the list and it was on alphabetical orders. I did my second one and it went farther than the last one. The teacher told us that we are really late for our next one so we went. It was long jump, we went in line and I was the first one again. They didn't tell us our record. After all of the things we did, we watched the relay. They we're really fast and some teachers go involved in the run too. After the relay it was home time so this is the end of my blog post I hope you like it.
