Rainbow paper

Materials;

1. cup

2. plate shaped

3.  chromatography paper

4. desk

5. water

6. washable pens

Process:

Step 1: 1st you need to get the cup.

Step 2:  Get the chromatography paper from Mr Palmer.

Step 3: Get washable pens .

Step 4: Go to your desk and make small shapes in the paper.

Step 5: Fold the paper in quarter.

Step 6: Put the paper in the the cup and get water from Mr Palmer.

Findings: Write about what happened.

Reflection: What have I learnt from this experiment?

Skittles

Aim: To separate colours by using the process of chromatography.

Materials;

1. skittles
2. water
3. petridish
4. Chromebook
5. 
6. 

Process:

Step 1: Get a petridish with skittle from Mr Palmer.
Step 2:open the petridish and arrange the skittles away from each other  
Step 3:put water on it, and wait minutes for it to change the water color
Step 4: take some photo of the changes of the colors.

Findings: Write about what happened.

Reflection: What have I learnt from this experiment?

What did the colours do? Upon putting water, the colours changed
Did the colours mix together? No 
Why or why not? they have different colors on specific area.

Extension: 

What is another experiment you could do using chromatography and how would you do it. 

Title; chromatography using m-n-m's

Aim: To separate colours by using the process of chromatography.

Materials:1. M-n-m's
2. water
3. bowl
4. Chromebook

Process:

Step 1: Get a bowl with M-n-m's,
Step 2 Put the m-n-m's on bowl and arrange the m-n-m's away from each other  
Step 3:Put water on it, and wait minutes for it to change the water color
Step 4: Take some photo of the changes of the colors.

I think you use the M and m's   for the same experiment it will be the same and I think the m and m's will make more color the the skittles

Today's reliever.

Today with our reliever: Mr white was proud of me because he saw what book i'm reading, he told me when he was a 40+ the artist in the book was famous, he told me he made more than 20 books, he also told me if I liked the book and if the read the next one's I would love them.

Home chemistry

Last week we went to mr palmers class and did q and a he gave us four papers to finish I managed to finish all of them. After we did those we did some science experiments the experiment is mixing bakes soda and vinegar.  DESIGN AN EXPERIMENT THAT TEST7vS THE AMOUNT OF SALT THAT MUST BE IN WATER BEFORE IT WILL NOT FREEZE WHEN LEFT OVERNIGHT IN THE FREEZER.

When we design an experiment there are some important questions that we must answer first. This is part of the planning stage and will help to give us some ideas.
Record these answers on your blog.

The Plan.
Task 1; Read the question carefully and write the answer to these questions.
What do we need to find out?  Testing the water and salt and leaving it inside the freezer overnight .
How will we find it out? Leaving gopro inside the the refrigerator or any camera
How will we record what we find?   Using a camera and record it with the timelapse overnight.
What equipment do we need for the experiment? Salt, Water, Cup.
How long will it take? 24hours.
The Procedure
Task 2: What are the steps that you will take to make the experiment?
List them in 6 steps.
Step 1; Grab cup.
Step 2:Put a water inside
Step 3:Grab some salt
Step 4:Put the salt on the water
Step 5:Leave it inside the freezer overnight
Step 6: And look what will happen after that day
The Process
Task 3: Draw on a piece of A4 paper the 6 steps that you will use to test the amount of salt in water before freezing. When we are making drawings in science  it needs to be labelled clearly, kept tidy and named. Once you have completed the drawing it must be photographed and uploaded to your blog.
In your drawing you will use:
Beakers
Water
Measuring spoons or cups
Salt
