P.E

Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about P.E. I'm going to be talking about what sports we did this year. So far have been doing sports like athletics. The first thing I was meant to  do was high jump, it was really late. So we did sprints instead, sprints is the worst one for me. I was versing my friends and they we're really fast. In sprints I came fourth, I thought that it was ok to be the fourth one, at least I tried. The next thing we did was discuss, it was my most favorite one. The teacher told us that she will give us 3 tries and she was going to mark the last try.

I did my first one, it went really far. I went back of the line because I was the first one in the group to do it. I saw the list and it was on alphabetical orders. I did my second one and it went farther than the last one. The teacher told us that we are really late for our next one so we went. It was long jump, we went in line and I was the first one again. They didn't tell us our record. After all of the things we did, we watched the relay. They we're really fast and some teachers go involved in the run too. After the relay it was home time.

Other sports we did are football, volleyball, Ki O Rahi and Touch. My favorite sport was Kiorahi because it made my communication and teamwork better. The worst sport for me was football because my teammates were not trying and keep sitting down.  We had so little communication and that is why we don't get the ball back from the other team when they steal it.  I also don't like it because it was tiring.  To improve I need to train and practice how to play and do them properly and  Contributing on a team whatever your role is. I really like being the leader but sometimes I don't get to be the leader but its ok.

Reflection

Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about what we did yesterday. Our task is to write a reflection about it on our blogs. Yesterday we finished off the last bits that we needed to put on our cultural KETE work. I did one about the Filipino beliefs, Pagmamano and facts about what we do and wear in different occasions. After we finished all the work, we went to our period three class and the teacher in our period 3 class which is Mrs. Castello took us to the Green space in front of our Kahui. We watched the Filipinos and Samoans perform, they were really good for my opinion. The Filipinos wore their traditional clothes called Barong Tagalog. Barong Tagalog, It is used in special occasions in the Philippines. It is a common formal  attire in Filipino culture, it is supposed to be worn untucked over an undershirt with belted trousers and black or formal shoes.  The Samoan's wore their traditional clothes called "Puletasi"

Here are the tasks that I did:

I also made a story and supposed to do an animation but I was too late, here is the story. In the early 1700s a woman in the Philippines named Roselita was living alone in a hut. Her husband left her because he found out she was pregnant. By despair she cried and cried. Few months have passed, and any time then the baby can come out. One night her tummy was hurting like the baby wants to come out. She went out calling for help and saw something in the sky coming towards her. “Manananggal!!” She cried, she went back inside hearing the loud flapping sound made by the Manananggal’s wings. She was frightened, she knew that the Manananggal would eat her baby. There was a loud bang on the roof, she was really scared and she was thinking of what would happen. Her tummy rumbled again but this time she knew it was coming out. She laid down looking at the ceiling and tried to push as hard as she could. The baby came out, it was full of blood and really skinny. She saw the Manananggal flying with it’s black demonic wings outside her window. It broke in! She threw all the stuff that she could, big or small while holding the baby.  This creature is indestructible. It scared her more when she saw that it didn’t have a full body. It had black red eyes and the intestines are hanging from down below. It was the last thing she saw.  Here is the work my mates did that I didn't get to do and finish.

After the performance we were sent to go to our Kahui to look at the works the students have done. It was really amazing seeing facts about the history of their culture. It was also fun because they were some games that they made us play. The games were cultural games, it was also weird because the rules are different on what we are used to. We played some Filipino games such as "Luksong Baka" Luksong Baka, It is a traditional Filipino game. All the players must jump over the “Baka” which is the player that is the loser. If you don't get over the Baka your get to be the Baka. The Baka’s or the player’s position slowly comes up until the last level, you need to jump the whole player’s body. I was really proud of my work because I worked hard doing them.

After the look around that we did we went to our period 4 classes had lunch and went to our period 5 classes. There was an after school performance, my little brother named Alonzo was performing our cultural dance called " Paro Parong Bukid". I was really proud of him. The high school Filipinos students came. They did Tinikling, Tinikling is a traditional dance between a female and a male trying not to get hit by the bamboo. They next thing they did was the Carinosa, its a dance that shows romance, and love. The actions of the dance will really give you goosebumps because it was perfect with the music.

Hunt for the Wilderpeople - film review

Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about writing about the film review. Our task is to include each style of sentence at least once. Our teacher came up with a question and we need to answer it. What does a film review include? A film review includes an evaluation of a particular film that includes the summary. In school we watched the film Hunt for the Wilderpeople .  The director of the film Hunt for the Wilderpoeple is Taika Waititi. Taika Waititi is also an actor, he has been in a lot of films such as Avengers, BOY and JoJo Rabbit. The movie was made 5 years ago which is the year 2016 and they made 23.2 million us dollars. The protagonist of the film are Julian Dennison - Ricky Baker, Sam Neil - Hector and Rima Te Wiata which is Bella. The dog who played Tupac is called Tuss. The guys that we're after them or the antagonist  are Rachel House - Paula  and Troy Kingi -TK. The movie Hunt for the Wilderpeople is filmed in New Zealand to be excact it is filmed at Waitakere Ranges.

Plot

The film is about a fat kid name Ricky moving onto the farm because he didn't have parents.  As an orphan Ricky is a really dangerous kid because he steals, vandalizes and spit. After he got moved on the farm, he met Bella. She teased Ricky by saying are you hungry? as a rhetorical question and said look at you with a grin. It is mostly about Ricky and Hector running away from the Government.

Analysis - your opinion

I really liked the film Hunt for the Wilderpoeple. If you want a comedic film  that has a lot of fun adventures in it you must watch Hunt for the Widerpeople. I only recommend this film for kids that are 12 or 13 plus. There are some words and some dramas that are not for kids. My rating for this film is 6 out of 10, this is because there are not much actions.

ESOL

Hello readers today I'm going to be making  a new blog post about ESOL. When we we're all sitting down and ready to listen, our teacher Mrs. Truter read a book without even warning us. She didn't even tell us the title of the book!. She sat down on the chair that was in the middle of the room and said are we all ready? The story seems to be about a boy named Noah talking about his family. The first sentence of the books was "My dad fell in love with my mum when she was eating pie". His dad was a surfer.

He memorized the times her crush is on her job, and he comes every time she is working. He told if his that knew if he wanted to be a photographer in the age of 13, when his father first held a camera. He thinks she is  fearless and really cute, after he surfed he waited for his crush to ask him out. They became together, she was his very first girlfriend and the only girl he has ever been with. They got married on their backyard and moved to Kenya, they had their honeymoon their. Kenya is a country in East Africa with the coast line on the Indian Ocean.

Kenya is famous for their wildlife, and 3 of the most famous ones are lions, rhinos and elephants. The kid telling the story has 2 brothers and one sister and also mom and dad. I think the story will be about their family going around the world cruising.  I also think it might be about someone dying. I really hope the book is about drama and action. I know a magpie is a kind of bird, it is black and white and really small too. Quote, " I guess we al kinda knew that our life was perfect and that we wouldn't change a thing. But sometimes you don't get that choice, do you? Sometimes stuff happens that would do anything to try to avoid. But you can't. And that's what happened to us. I think that quote is about somethings things you should avoid but you can't avoid it.

The Plague Doctor

Hello readers today I'm going to  be making a new blog post about the bubonic plague. My task is to talk about what the doctors wore in the medieval times. So, the doctors wore a bird beak like mask. The mask had a glass opening for the eyes and a curved beak shaped like a bird's beak in front of the plagues doctors nose. The purpose of the mask was to keep away bad smell, also known as miasma. The masks had 2 nose holes which was a type of respirator. The masks are filled with lavender and bergamot oil.  Bergamot essential oil is a cold-pressed essential oil produced by cells inside the rind of a bergamot orange fruit.  They believed that the virus came from the air but in reality it came from the rats. Doctors in Europe preferred wearing wax coats, they wore thick leather gloves and thick leather boots. They wore amulets of dried blood and ground up toads we're tied into their waist. Bubonic Plague is still around But, fortunately, we're in the clear. Unlike COVID-19, we have clear treatments for the bubonic plague

SEXXXY PARAGRAPH

Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about Hunt for the Wilderpeople. We did another SEXXXY writing but this time we get to pick our own topic. SEXXY paragraph is

Here is the third SEXXXY paragraph that I did: My topic is about Ricky and Hec hiding from the government in the snow. I saw this in the middle of the film, they 're getting chased by guys that were wearing black special forces suits. It makes the audience feel anxiety, if they get caught they won’t be able to hide for long because their footprints are showing or it might show. This is important in the movie because in this part the action comes. This is also important because it makes them bond with each other more. The two shots are used really great in this part of the movie because Ricky and Hec are working with each other. The Audience's opinion was one of the best bits of the film because it was quite funny how they act. Maybe also sad because they lost the dog named Tupac.

I really like the movie Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Please comment on my blog post and give me some feedback about my SEXXXY paragraph writing.

Filipino Gestures.

Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about how Filipino kids show respect to elderly. We are learning about this to know the history of the other countries. It is also part of our cultural kete and this is one of the tasks we need to do.  I learnt a lot, now I know that Filipino use Pagmamano to show respect to their elderly. I made a DLO about it, Here it is:

The Bubonic Plague.

Hello reader today I'm going to be making a new blog post about The Black Death. We are learning this so we know our history. The Black Death was a contagious, horrible, disgusting and deadly disease. There are three kinds of black death, there is a Bubonic plague, it produces apple sized boils and when the boils pop you die. The other one is the Pneumonic plague, I affects the lungs, this plague kill you faster and more efficient. The last one is the Septicemic plague, I affects the blood cells and it might take hours to kill you. The symptoms of the black death is Patients develop sudden onset of fever, headache, chills, and weakness and one or more swollen, tender and painful lymph nodes (called buboes).

The cures that the medieval people did was, being bled with leeches, be purged with laxatives or enemas, have the buboes lanced or cauterized, having hot plasters added to you, they believed that bathe relieve symptoms swallowing pills such as powdered stag's horns or myrrh and saffron and more. Some rules that the doctors gave the people was eating meat of the proper age, is to be seasoned with pepper, ginger and cloves, drinking urine, whipping yourselves. Avoiding cold moist and watery food. So how do you keep the plague away from you? You should stay away from your town or village buy relics to earn favor with god. When the people die they take them to the plague pits. The real cure for the plagues was the drinking pills like antibiotics.
