Summer Learning Journey.

Hello readers, today I'm making a new blog post about my first Summer Learning Journey blog post. I'm going to be writing about Roald Dahl. It says the he was a British pilot, there is some really cool and interesting words this is the most interesting one of them. Scrumdiddlyumptious, This means unique recipes and cooking hacks. He is be author that have written BFG.  I like his books because of the twits, They are very unique characters and very unique shapes. Mrs Twit is wonky and Mr Twit food stuck in his nostrils. This disgust me. Roald Dalh is Successfully for writing books because his books are funny and catchy with the picture in it. BFG is saying strange words like well Beans and I is not doing ECT. BFG is controlling the dreams of the people.  He gives good and bad dreams, He gets trap Dreams in some jars. BFG means Big Friendly Giant.

Mr And Mrs Twit Own Task.

Hello, Today I have been doing my own choice task. This is what I did, Mr and Mrs Twit is very disgusting because they have food stuck in there nostrils, They are very smelly, Their smell is contagious. I think What is did is more beautiful than the real Mr and Mrs Twit.

Pounamus.

Hello readers, today i'm going to be making a new blog post about Te Reo Maori. We learnt about Pounamu. They are greenstone. Our teacher told us that every year in the bottom of the mountain there is Pounamu. It get washed down on the mountains and it will be picked up by people. Mr Matthews showed us some cool different kinds of Pounamu. This is what we did.

Sad Story - Creative Writing

I was Twelve years old when I knew I was adopted. It was so hard to deal with, I loved my mom Why did she tell me this with this young age? When I was born my real mom gave me to another woman, she didn't want to keep me because she think I wouldn't have a good life with her. My mom that has adopted me gave me everything I want. Except my real mom, she doesn't know where she is. She told me If she knows she will tell me. I really wanted to meet her, I didn't want to have this life, I want to be with my real family I told her. She cried, She told me that she was adopted to. She told me her story. She had worst times, she always wanted to be with her dad but be passed away. She was adopted by rich people and gave her everything she wants. At least my mom gave me to her, now I am living happily with her. The riches the she has now is from the people the had adopted her. I stayed with her, and I had a good life.

Summer Learning Journey.

Hello Emma, today I'm making a new blog post about SLJ,  I will be participating  Summer learning journey,  My name Is Alex and I go to Hornby High School I like playing sports with my friends. The Summer learning journey is Interesting because in summer its a holiday but  It says Summer Learning Journey. This is what interests me. I don't really like learning on summer because It wont be fun but I will do it for the prizes. Twits Reflection

Hello readers today I'm making a blog post about the Twits, I think the twits had
no parents and had grown in the streets because of their attitude. The have food
in their nostril, They don't take a bath, Their hair is wonky. I think they are smelly
and stupid because even if there is only two people in their family they keep
Hurting each other by pranks.

Mrs twit cooked spaghetti worms and gave it to Mr Twit. Now the Monkeys that they put in the cage is teaming with the birds to get a revenge on the twits I think they are going to be successful because the twits are stupid, I hope that the birds can be successful. Because they are stupid too. They get stuck and the twits eat them.

This book is really cool guys but it's a little bit disgusting because of the things in the book, I want you to read this book because its interesting. Examples: Mrs Twit Flew in the sky with the balloons but she went down safely. Please pick it will be a great book to read because it is in your age group this means that you can read this book.

Tane Mahuta

Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about Tane Mahuta. We have been doing Tane mahuta for 2 periods today and it has been so  exhausting,  We were loosening the soil so we can put seeds and it will grow to plants. We made trenches for the soil to put in This is what we have been doing to the whole day.  It was so hard but it's OK,I'm having fun with my friends while we are doing this that is why its OK. We also had gym sports, I didn't like the gym sports because the activities are not fun. We did tennis and cricket. There was too many people and all the we are not have proper turns. In tennis its OK I only didn't like cricket.

Hello readers today i'm going to be making a new blog post about Tane Mahuta. We have been doing Tane mahuta for 2 periods today and it has been so  exhausting,  We were loosening the soil so we can put seeds and it will grow to plants. This is what we have been doing to the whole day.  It was so hard but it's OK, i'm having fun with my friends while we are doing this that is why its OK. We also had gym sports, I didn't like the gym sports because the activities are not fun. We did kick long ball, I wished we did basket ball so its 5 players in a game. I don't like it if their is too many people in one court. When we got back to Tane Mahuta we picked up weeds and also loosened more of the soil, so we can put more seeds in it. This is all we did in Tane Mahuta Today.

Environmental issue.

Hi, Today i'm going to be making a new blog post about Environmental issue, all of us made games about three issues the ethical,environmental and the social issue. I picked the environmental issue because i don't want the environment to die so i made a game so we can stop this happening. This issue is the most bad issue because there is a lot of people can be affected by this issue. The social issue affects a lot too.

The thing that went well for me is that I made a really cool game about shooting the guys who are littering in the environment. This is a very cool game if I finish it I would make a screencastify about it and show it to all of you, The thing that I did really well was the game, Because if you play it you will really struggle. There are some invisible enemy but you can kill them with the guns. What worked well is that I almost finish my game and i can show it to you.

What I would like different next time is the blocks to be more bigger and some ore other guns. I also want this game to be multiplayer so I can play with my friends and have fun with them. The changes I would make is that more animation like swimming in the the water and if the fire touches you, you would put your hands up.

Tangaroa story.

Hello readers today i'm going to be making a new blog post about Tangaroa's story, here it is.

In Māori mythology, Tangaroa (also Takaroa) is one of the great gods, the god of the sea. ... After he joins his brothers Rongo, Tūmatauenga, Haumia, and Tāne in the forcible separation of their parents, he is attacked by his brother Tāwhirimātea, the god of storms, and forced to hide in the sea.

Rongomatane (Rongo) is the god of cultivated food. Food that we harvest and farm ourselves.
Tumatauenga is the god of war and mankind.

Basketball.

Hello readers today i'm going to be making a new blog post about basketball. In P.E today we have been doing basketball, Team Celtics taught us how to play basketball and rules. We played matches with other teams and it was so fun. Our lesson is very successful because the teachers are so good at teaching and some of them are n the basketball team.

 I contributed to my team by cheering them when they we're playing and passing the ball so its fair to them. The thing I would like different next time is full court because its not free to play 5v5 in half court. I learned teamwork because even though our team only won one time, We still had team work. I learned communication, In my team their wasn't so much communicating if we have the ball but if the opponents have the ball we communicate. We had three rounds on this sport and we only won one game.

Tane mahuta.

Hello readers, today i'm going to be making a new blog post about Tane mahuta. Today we have been picking up some weeds. I was hard because over the holidays they hasn't been picked. We spent a lot of time picking up weeds, We did this the whole period. I saw the plants and they grew when we planted them they we're only seeds but when they grew it looked cool. I realised that we all worked hard for all we planted.

Hello readers today i'm making a new blog post about the twits, The twits is what we have been reading in this term we just started it today.  I had been fun to read it but some of them are very disgusting. The twits dont have manners they don't take baths and they look ugly and stupid.

They keep pranking each other like they are friends but actually this guys are married. The story of them is bad but i like reading the book. Their is one time Mrs Twit put worms on Mr twit's spaghetti.
Mr twit has a very long hairy body and also Mrs twit. I think this two are the worst couple.

Hello readers today I'm going to make a new blog post about lions, Our classes went to Orana park before the holidays and then when we arrived we saw a girl name Elisabeth she guided us to the animals and told us some facts. The lions are my favorite one so I made a DLO about it.

Orana park.

Hello, Today I'm going to make a new blog post about our tour to Orana Park.

When I got to school in the morning of 23rd of Sep, I went to the new Kahui, There was no one inside, I asked some people if they know where TZ and BH are and they said they are in the learning commons going to Orana park. So I went inside the learning commons, They were waiting for me, my teacher asked me about the form that our parents need to sign, I gave it to her. The bus driver took a long time before it came to school. We had a morning tea early, For waiting the bus.

 We saw the bus coming and we lined up outside. And then go in the bus so we arrived at Orana park,  There was a girl waiting for us. Outside the bus we went down the bus and then listened to the woman's instruction. First she told her name to use and I Forgot it. When we were listening to her instruction there was a duck walking and it looked so cute and messy. We went inside the park, We saw meerkats. We and then walked long to where we can put our bags or the bag area. 

We walked to the other animals in the zoo mostly animals that we went to we're cool, My favorite animals was the lion, We looking at the lions and they were like communicating my each other by roaring. The boys and girls we're separated because if they are in the same cage, The boys might fight for the girl lions. We went to the kiwi house it was dark inside because kiwis are only active at night, We got inside their house and then I saw a kiwi it was so cool, I imagined that I saw a rare animal. 

We went to another place and its called a kea house, The tour guide is asking us a question, The question was how many kiwi and kea is in the world, The answers we're. 68,000 kiwis and 3000 kea, The kea was rarer I imagined that I saw a really rare animal. These birds are smart.

The next place we went to is gorillas and orangutans, They looked so ugly. But they are very smart, we cant look them on the face because they will be so aggressive. Because if you, someone goes into your room what will you feel. This is why we can't look them to the eyes. I forgot their name. The oldest one of them looks like King Kong. 

The next place we went to is to the giraffes, we all formed a big line and then fed them one by one, The giraffe I fed had a very big eye I was surprised that there is an animal had that long neck. It was so cool to feed them because they wrap the food on their tongue. We went back to the bus and then, got back to the school.

Reflection.

Hello, Today I'm going to be making a new blog post about my reflection today at using sphero and scratch. Scratch is a online site and you make games with it, You can play other peoples game. I have played my friends game and it was so fun. I made a game and its about basketball. We make the game by programming it. I programmed it to move and shoot the ball. This is what I did in scratch. 

In sphero, We also programme it like scratch but you don't make a game with it. You play with it, This robot is very fun to use. You control it with its own joystick. It can move fast slow in can move any sides but not jump. If it can jump I would actually but one and play with it the whole day.

I would prefer use sphero because its fun to use it, I can still use scratch but I still would prefer to use sphero.

P.E Hurumanu

Readers today I'm going to be making a new bog post about P.E.

Bench ball:
At first we did the warm ups for the bench ball, We did high knees, running weight, spirnts with the whole group.and  high knees. After the warm up we played a game similar to octopus it's called catch granny. So the granny is the bad guy and if we catch her or he you are going to be the granny.

 This game was very fun but exhausting but it's ok. After the drill we played the game the game we played was bench ball, the other group told us the rules and the equipment we need. The rules are no blocking but if they throw the ball you can hit it while in the air.

 In first the year 7 tz's and year 7 bh versed together. We talked about what we are going to do in bench ball. We started. I was the jumper in our team, Ms Simpson threw the ball up and then the other jumper tried to catch it but he jumped late.

 When I got the ball I threw it to my teammate and then throw it forward so the catcher in the bench can catch it. My teammate Jesse threw it to our teammate in the bench and then it missed. The pass was to light.

The other team got the ball they got closer to the people in their bench and then they scored 3 in a row. They won the game, I was disappointed but I thought it was still fun to verse TZ.

Math: In maths we have been learning about adding the perimeter, I though it was hard but when my teacher though it to us it was very easy, You add the length and the weight of a shape, You measure it and then add it all together. I learned how to add perimeter, we use strategies in our group we have been helping each other to answer a question and then we always answer it. The best strategy I learnt was the perimeter.

Volleyball:

In the last few weeks we were practicing to teach people how to play volley ball we have been practicing what we are going to say. This is what we have been doing in the last few weeks.
Last time I think I was really annoying because I was not listening to my group but now. I have been listening to them
the graduate profile point I am working towards is listening to my team. I demonstrated this by listening and not being annoying in my team.

Tane Mahuta.

Hello readers, Today I'm going to be making a new blog post about Tane Mahuta, Today we have been collecting weeds from the soil, we did this to make the plants grow properly and without grass.  This is all what we have been doing in this CIP. We did gym sports, Because this is a part of our CIP.

 In gym sports we have been playing Multi sports this has been very fun. In multisport, the sports are hockey, basketball, netball, football, and touch rugby. We have been spitted in two teams I played hockey for the first, the second sport I played is basketball and we won. The third sport  I played is football. We played all the sports and we lost, I wonder why we lost because we we're taking the lead. But I realise that I was cheering the other team. The score in the end was 10/5 this is all what we did.

Night Vision / Rain fall

Kamusta readers, today I'm going to be making a new blog post about Ella West. Ella West is a great author she had made brilliant books like Night Vision and Rain fall, Today she came to our school, she came from Dunedin to Christchurch. I think the distance from Dunedin to Christchurch is very far. I think we are very lucky because we met her today. She has been sharing her stories with us, Her stories are from other documentaries that she watched in the last 9 years. The documentary is about the people with a sickness called XP. It can give you skin cancer. She showed us picture with kids with the skin cancer, they had made a very interesting thing to stop this. The kids can play in the sun but they need to wear a clear mask, I don't know what it's called. 

The Night Vision is about a kid who has XP, the first thing that happened in the story is a murder, a guy lit the car up and it exploded while this kid with XP is watching in the dark with night vision goggles. She had been scared from the fire but she went to the forest and then she hid from the fire. She also made a Italian version of the Night Vision. She wrote the book carefully by thinking what she was going to write. She had been thinking about the settings, The places the setting are in USA and NZ, I think she combined this two places and then made the stories in this places. The places I have seen is the Real Mexican Food Restaurant. She said that the first book she wrote has been published after 3 years. I was like What?!

We asked questions to her and then she answered some of  it.

Digital tech.

Hello readers today I'm going to be making  a new blog post about what we did in our digital technology. So in digital technology we've been doing a lot of work we have been busy by almost 3 weeks. In our technology we have been doing issues, the issues are the environmental, ethical, and social. I have chosen an environmental issue. This global warming . I have chosen this because the earth is going hotter because of this, The ice in antartica is melting and making the sea level or water level high.

Who/what does your issue affect?  

It affects the world because of the litter everywhere. The air gets hotter because of the carbon from our breathing and from the cars we exhale carbon dioxide and the cars have carbon monoxide carbon is making the world hot that is why amazon is burning right now.

What did your first source say?

Plastic bags are not biodegradable. They fly off trash piles, garbage trucks, and landfills, and then clog storm water infrastructure, float down waterways, and spoil the landscape. If all goes well, they end up in landfills where they may take 1,000 years or more to break down into ever smaller particles that continue to pollute the soil and water.

Hurumanu P.E.

Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about P.E. Today it's been the second week of P.E, P.E had been very fun because we do sports and blogging. For this year I think this hurumanu is what I liked the most.

So this is what we did on P.E: We have been practicing passing and serving the ball, out sport is volleyball. at first we have been stretching by doing lunges squats and running. 

We did fifteen time of each the warm up. when I first heard it I thought it was boring but when I played it it's fun. In our practice we need to do the serve it almost like how you pass in basketball. Basketball and soccer is my main sports, but I still like volleyball.

 I helped people by giving them back their ball because when they shoot it sometimes come to me or the other people. I think all of us had fun today in this Hurumanu, I cant wait when we are going to teach the other teams how to play volleyball. I think we did everything we have planned to do, This is all what we did today in our hurumanu.

Tane Mahuta.

Hello reader today I'm going to be making a new blog post about Tane Mahuta, We have been planting seeds, we have been planting seeds since last week, and this is what I did last

last week, we have been digging the soil, we made the soil soft we made it soft by smashing it with the shovel.  It was very tiring because it was hot but its ok because we had a lot of fun talking to each other while doing this. My other classmates put the cauliflower and the beetroot in the soil. After all, we all went under the tree and the Mr Tisch took a picture of all of us. The other group cleaned the outside classroom I think they had a lot of fun also because they are breaking up stuffs. When the Tane mahuta paused at interval i saw my friends in the other group laughing I joined them and laughed with them. We all went to interval and then I went to the cafeteria.

So today we have been putting the fruit waste and water on the plants to make it healthier,t I did a lot but I gave up when its the time to put this things in the plants, it smelled very disgusting and I almost vomited because of it. Interval came, I played with my friends and then eat some tuna with crackers. After interval we went to gym sports the other guys kept doing Tane Mahuta because this is their passion. In gym sports we played dodgeball but before we play dodgeball we went to the big tree in the end of  the field, after that we went inside the court and did beep test I didn't want to do it because I already did it. I did it again because my friends did it. I got to level 6.2 and then I stopped because I had stich. after that beep test we played dodgeball., we had a lot of fun on dodgeball. When we finished dodgeball we got changed and then go back to class. This is all what we did on Tane Mahuta.

P.E Hurumanu

Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about our new hurumanu the PE HURUMANU. This is the first week of our hurumanu and I really liked it, PE is fun even though its tiring. Bh and Tz is in the same hurumanu. 

So today we did fitness testing, we did beep test. Beep test is when you run if you hear the beep. We did running on the court and lunges and then. We started the beep test. In the level one I was laughing and running level two I focused and jog as slowly and as  fast as I can level three I started to struggle the levels come higher. The beeper says the levels like this  level 1 - 1 level 2 -2 level 3-3 the beeper say it like this that's why you cant level up that fast. I continued to level four, I got stich at level 5 and stopped.

I cheered the people who are still doing the beep test, I clapped on them and also tell them that you can do it, I think the beef test is very hard. I think I need to improve on my running. I don't practice a lot of running but I was still proud of my score. I think I can prove my running by practicing on the weekends and also keep playing sports. Little but of video games and not staying at home for so long.

 At the end of the beep test we did stretching we all formed a circle and then we stretched our legs. It hurt very much because my foot is very tired. We tried to touch our foot while standing up and not bending your legs.

My result is 5.6 I'm really proud of this result, I think I can beat this on my next beep test I will keep practicing and try to not give up.

Fantastic Mr Fox.

Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about  Fantastic Mr Fox. This blog post is reading, I read chapter five and six of this story and this is the summary of the book.

Chapter 5 And 6
Bunce, Bean and Boggis has been digging in Mr Foxe's hole for so long now but they haven't  even improve, Mr Fox realised that their ceiling is falling down. Mr Fox and his family haven't ate that time. Mr Fox and his family started to dig up a hole under their hole they dug up a very deep hole his wife told them that their father is a Fantastic fox. The tree farmers gave up digging the hole with normal shovels so they got mechanical caterpillar shovels. The three farmers got Mr Foxes tree. The monstrous trucks sent flying rocks and trees, down in the tunnel Mr fox stopped digging they listened what happening outside. Mr Foxe's family never gave up and kept digging the hole they also didn't eat, they didn't stop digging, they didn't have time to eat.

CIP.

Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog port about my new CIP Tani mahuta. Tani mahuta is planting we have been doing this program to help stores we give the fruits and vagetable and hey give us the waste. What we do with the waste is we plant it. I like this CIP because most of my friends are here.

Just today we have been making beds for the seeds to put in. First we got  the shovels and then we went to the place we need to dig up. We made the ground softer. If we make it softer the plants will grow faster but it it's hard it might not grow. I didn't know we they did next because I went to gym sports. I think they already put the soil.

In gym sports we played a game kinda like touch rugby I didn't actually know how to play it but I have been a very good defender. If you tag someone they need to run around the field. And then go back were they get tagged this is what we did in gym sports. We still had a lot of fun in gym sports even if I didn't do gardening.

Art Hurumanu.

Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about our art hurumanu. This is our last week in this hurumanu. In our hurumanu we have been learning to make our own characters and sharing our own ideas. The teachers made groups, I have been in Bryce's group and its really fun here. Our ideas fit to each other. Our ideas are kayaks, river, mountain, fish. We mixed all of our ideas and then this is what we did. We made clay characters, we made two kayaks and two heads we didn't put the body. Our characters looked so successful and they also look funny. We made the screen cast of our story. It is about two boys going to the river and going kayaking, they raced and Jill stopped because she saw a fish, she stopped because she is scared of it. Jill went to him to get the fish away. This is all our ideas mixed together.

What we did: stop motion, manaakitanga, In manaakitanga this is joy groups work.I was going to school  at 8:30 and then suddenly I saw my teacher heading to school too. I called him and then asked him if I can help him, he said ‘’yes please’’. I helped him bring his things to school. Jake saw me, Jake is one of my best enemy at school. He was looking at me so sharply and I was not scared because I was with my teacher. When we arrived at school my teacher said thank you.Jake looked a little bit jealous and he followed me to the court he punched me on the tummy and then he ran away. 

I went to class for the school time, when I was working, he threw some paper on me I was so angry that time but I relaxed. Morning tea has come I looked every side and on my back he wasn’t following me. I was so glad that he wasn’t following me I ran to the cafe and then bought a pizza he saw me again. When I was going to bite on my pizza he smacked the pizza and it fell on the ground I was so angry and I shouted to loud as I can on his face. The teacher saw me shouted on his face and we got to referral, when we are in referral my teacher called my mom and told her I shouted on my classmates face. when I was going home my mom told me what happened at school.

 I told her the truth, she went to school the other day and talked to my teacher. She asked my teacher about what happened and the teacher didn’t say what I told my mom. She didn’t think I'm telling the truth and she was very angry with me. We went home, she told me if he bully you one more time punch him in the face. I went to school the other day and he was following me again, I went to another place, I think no one can see this place I wrestled him and I kicked his tummy. He cried. 

The other day he said sorry to me and we’ve been friends I also said sorry to him because I punched him. In the other days I tought  him how to play basketball and he got good at it. Now basketball is his favourite sport. We play it all the time we got in the basketball team for free. If it's not for free we must have payed $200. The teacher saw us how good we are. that's why he got Jack and  me to the team for free. After all that happened, he has been my best friend. And this is what I did on manaakitanga. 

 On stop motion we made our group characters we made two boys kayaking in the river and then they tried to race to the buoy but suddenly there was a fish. One of the friends is scared of the fish he called his other friend and then  told  him to paddle.

What I learned: I learned how to use Stop Motion in this Hurumanu and I also learned how to participate in groups.

What I enjoyed:

I enjoyed working in a group because I haven't always worked in a group this is what I enjoyed in this Hurumanu.

What I found difficult: what I found difficult is when my group is gone or absent, sometimes there is two people in the group. Even though my teammates is gone we still finish the work that we need to do.

Hello readers today i'm going to be making anew blog post about manaakitanga.

Here it is: I was going to school  at 8:30 and then suddenly I saw my teacher heading to school too. I called him and then asked him if I can help him, he said ‘’yes please’’. I helped him bring his things to school. Jake saw me, Jake is one of my best enemy at school. He was looking at me so sharply and I was not scared because I was with my teacher. What are we doing this term for reading? We are doing the fantastic mr fox.

By only looking at the cover, what can we infer or guess about the story. I think mr fox is dancing on the cover and also I can see little fox they might be his children.

After reading the back cover, what do you think this story about? Mr fox robs chickens from bogging and turkey and ducks from bounce and beans.  I think he is stealing this chickens for his family to eat.

Using your prior knowledge, why do you think I have selected this book for us to read? I think this book is fun and interesting that's why I think you chose this book for us to read.

AIM: TO LOOK AT THE WATER CYCLE AND HOW CLIMATE CHANGE IS AFFECTING IT.

Definition:

Scientific words:

• Evaporation. When water is heated by radiant energy it turns into water vapor.
• Transpiration. Evaporation from plants.
• Condensation. When water vapor cools, molecules join together and form clouds.
• Precipitation. When clouds get heavy the waters falls as rain, sleet, hail, or snow.
• Acidification: the action or process of making or becoming acidic.

We will be conducting an experiment that looks at the different ways that climate change is affecting the water cycle.

THE WATER CYCLE EXPERIMENT

.Bag 1: Normal Water cycle.

Bag 2: Water cycle with CO2 added: like Oceans in climate change.

Bag 3: Water cycle with ice added: like Antarctica in climate change.

Material:

1.  Water.
2.  2 Bag.
3.  Food Colouring.
4.  Soda water.
5. Litmus paper.
6. Vivid.
7. Sand.

Steps:

 

1.   Get vivid and the bag from the teacher.
2.  Draw the water cycle on the bag.
3.  Get 1 cup of water or soda water from the teacher and put it in the bag.
4.  2 drops of food colouring into your bag.
5. Hang the bag onto the window.
6. In bag 2 I add litmus paper

Hurumanu Art

Hello readers, today i'm going to be making a new blog post about Hurumanu art. In Hurumanu we have been learning about making our own characters and make stop motions with them. After making our own clay characters the teacher put us in groups. We liked each others idea's and we put them together and it came out very nice. Our idea is kayaking in the river and a hill with it and also some fish on the water. We haven't dome our stop motion yet but we are going to do it if our group is full and all together. Today i'm only with Shane because my other teammates are absent maybe they are still having fun in the holidays and only me and Shane are  doing all the work here at school.
