Brief Summary.

 Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about ESOL. Today I'm going to write a brief reflection about term 3 ESOL. The best lesson I had is when we read the book called "Wonder". It was really interesting. It was a boy born with a Born with facial differences that, up until now, have prevented him from going to a mainstream school, Auggie Pullman becomes the most unlikely of heroes when he enters the local fifth grade. As his family, his new classmates, and the larger community all struggle to discover their compassion and acceptance, Auggie's extraordinary journey will unite them and prove you can't blend in when you were born to stand out.. Highlights for term 3.

 Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about my highlights of term 3. I think that term 3 is the best term because on term 3, we have winter sports. A lot of things had happened on term 3, such as COVID- 19 and the lockdown. The main highlight for this term is where we won the championships for Basketball. We were undefeated this season and our team is on the top of the leaderboard. After the finals, our coach Matthew Matagi treated us Dominos Pizza. Parallel and series circuit.

Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about Physics. Today we are learning about parallel and series circuit. Now, our teachers gave us a task and the task is to make a series circuit using 2 light bulbs and 1 battery. The next task was to make a parallel circuit using 2 bulbs and 1 battery.

What is the difference between series circuit and parallel circuit? In a parallel circuit, the voltage across each of the components is the same, and the total current is the sum of the currents flowing through each component. ... In a series circuit, every device must function for the circuit to be complete. If one bulb burns out in a series circuit, the entire circuit is broken. What is voltage and current in circuit? Current in the flow of the electricity and the voltage is the electrical force.

Physics AC/Static/DC

 Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about physics. Our task today is to answer some questions our teacher has assigned to use. What are the 3 particles that make up everything? The three names are Neutrons, electrons and protons. Objects that are electrically neutral ?  an object that has a balance of protons and electrons. when you rub two insulators you can get a static shock, so what is an insulator and a conductor? These materials are made up of atoms where electrons can move away or 'jump'. Example of static electricity? An example of static is rubbing a balloon on one's hair and then have the balloon stick to a wall. .Static electricity. What is the particle that moves in the wire? The particles are called electrons. If there is a high current in the circuit what does this mean? This means that there is more electrons. How does electricity work to heat up a stove? Not like gas stoves, electric stove tops don't produce a flame. Instead, an electric current causes a heating element to activate. What is DC electricity used ? Direct current is used in any electronic device with a battery for a power source. Where is AC electricity used? Maori Language week.

 Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about Wananga. Today we are celebrating Maori language week and we have a task we need to complete. Our first task was to listen to one of the seven songs on the slide and watch the documentary with it. Now we have got some questions to answer about the documentary. Here are the questions.. Answer the questions and create a DLO with your answers. You should include images, quotes, and lyrics in your slides.

Who or what inspired or motivated the singer/artist/band/musician to record a Te Reo version of the song? Hollie Smith was scared to speak Maori but she still sang the song.

What are some of the concerns of the singer/artist/band/musician when learning and recording the Te Reo version of the song? Hollie Smith was scared to speak Maori and don't want to speak the language wrongly.

What advice does the singer/artist/band/musician get from their Reo Māori composer/mentor? Their goal was to work together so the song would be good

What did you learn about the importance of Reo Māori (language) to Māori culture and identity? I learnt that Maori is a special language because it was used by the indigenous people of NZ which are the Maori.

Why is it important to have well known / popular New Zealand songs on the radio in Te Reo Māori? So the people don't forget Te Reo Maori.

5 well being.

Sophie Pascoe.

  Kia Ora everybody, today we were told to make another presentation about a swimmer named Sophie Pascoe. She was a Paralympian, from this country. In this task, we are given 4 different questions about her, and some other facts such as her age, where she lives, etc. When I was reading her bibliography I was shocked about her accident, but the more I read about her articles I was inspired by how she didn't stop her career as a swimmer. She continued, and live the best life and achieve her goal as a Paralympian swimmer. I was happy with how my research came out, and I have learned more about her and how the Paralympics work. Here is my research. Sophie won five medals and broke a world record while taking her total tally to 15 Paralympic medals. What is her disability? 

Pascoe, who lost her left leg following a lawnmower accident at two years old. This is the end of my blog post BYE!.. 

Summary Chapters 6-8

 Philip was blinded, one morning on the rafts, he lost the aching of his head but it made him blind. He heard some sounds coming from the sky, Philip was Very curious. He asked the black man Timmothy, what is that I hear in the sky? He said booby, Philip asked what a booby looked like, Timothy answered: Nothing much.. " tail like chocolate sharp beak and white body. He imagined what it would've looked liked, he thought of a bird. The description sounds likes its a seagull for me!... Timothy saw an island so he immediately told the kid. In wild excitement he jumped and fell of the raft!. He heard a splash after his one. And he clearly knew it was from the water too!  Something slapped against my leg he said.. They we're sharks! They went towards the island and in hours of swimming they finally got to the cay. During the afternoon Timothy didn't talk much, they wrote a big sign on the cay which said " HELP".

Why it is hard to live on a Cay.

 Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about the Cay. Today I'm doing one of the learning from home task, my task is to write a paragraph why it is difficult to live in the Cay. I think it is difficult to live in the Cay because it's in the middle of the oceans and there is not much resources. There are limited things to do and might get people to be out of their minds or crazy . On cays, the wind, heat and rain are really difficult to face. If its hot, its gonna be too hot, if rains it's gonna rain too much and if it winds its gonna wind too strong. There is gonna be lack of food even for 1 whole family. 

Hurricanes

 Two new things I learnt from  the video about how that  hurricanes form is that once the clouds spinning reaches 74mph that's when the hurricane starts. Hurricanes can be huge and they can be 10 to 15  miles high and 1,000 miles across. It is really rare for hurricanes to hit Curacao, the last hurricane was in 1877. Hurricane season is between June and December, therefore September is the peak season. Another thing is, Curacao is dryer than other islands because whenever there is hurricane it only takes all the wind.  Please comment on my blog post and give me some feedback about my writing. 

Do Now- Langosta.

Hey guys today I'm going to be doing another do now. If there are only lots of langosta or lobster in Curacao then you have a lot of food to eat. Lobsters has got really strong shells, and maybe you can make weapons with then or tools. If there are many lobsters you may use the shells to make shelter with. The Cay summary Chapter 1-5

 Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about The Cay. For today, I'm going to be doing my Fast finisher task. From what I can remember, chapter 1 was just an introduction of Philips lifestyle and family. In his family, there is his Mum, Dad and him. They live in Curacao,  before they went to Curacao they lived in some parts of  USA. They went to Curacao so they can support the dad that works on an oil refinery. Like what I said, chapter 2 was really different from chapter 1, Boats and ships from their island started to get attacked. It was the Germans!. Philip and his mother went to a ship that was taking people to USA. The dad stayed because Curacao is where his job is. The boy was really judgemental, when he sees black people he commonly sees them as low ranked people, "like slaves". When the ship was moving, it was torpedoed every one was unconscious. Philip woke up, he was really scared and couldn't find his mum. He was on a raft!!.. When he turned around he saw this man, he was black, had a big nose and also stinks!. On the last chapter, a plane passed by but they couldn't see them.
