Hunt for the Wilderpeople

 Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about Hunt for the Wilderpeople. We did another SEXXXY writing but this time we get to pick our own topic. SEXXY paragraph is 

This is what I did: My topic is describe at least one way a character changed throughout the film. I saw this in the the beginning of the film when Ricky was graffitiing, theft, vandalizing ECT.  Ricky went to the farm and had his time there. Hec was really angry and he didn’t like Ricky Baker. This makes the audience feel bored, now that he is in the farm he can’t do much. Hec in the film is the grumpy guy, this makes the audience feel judgmental because they will think that Hec is always grumpy. The director included this in the film so it wouldn't  be boring. Each  character has a different personality. The light is really light and colorful, this shows the adventure that they are going through. The camera angle that was mostly used at the film was the two angle. In the end of the movie Ricky didn’t want to leave Hec. Hec also changed, he showed his happiness and proudness for the first time.  The Audience's opinion this was one of the best bits of the film because it was quite funny how they act. They sometimes look confused, angry and happy. I like the film Hunt for the Wilderpeople. 

I learnt how to make SEXXXY paragraphs like the one that I did on this blog post. This helped my writing by writing what happened and keep doing it. My favorite part of the film study is when we are assigned to watch the movie Hunt for the Wilderpeople  because its fun. I also liked making the SEXXXY paragraphs about them.

Whakanuia ngā Ahurea / Celebrating Cultures

Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about what we are doing in our Wananga class. This week we are doing and learning about Whakanuia ngā Ahurea which means Celebrating Cultures. Our task is to make a DLO and put some pictures in that is connected to the key words like  Heritage, Values , Whakapapa, Tikanga, Kiwiana, Cultural Identity, Cultural Practices and Traditions. Here is the DLO that I made and I hope you love it!

ESOL

Greetings everyone, 

Some fun things that we are doing here in ESOL is doing the quiz. We get to work in teams, we have 10 people in our team and the other has 8. We do some competitions about naming books and naming the characters on them. Another thing that we do on esol that is fun is that we get to do some blogs. Blogging on ESOL is really cool because we can show out learning to other people. The last thing that is fun for me at ESOL is that all my Filipino friends are here learning together with me. 

Fast finisher Tasks.

 Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about our fast finisher tasks. Fast finisher tasks are for the pupils that are have finished all their work but these tasks are not work. There are just activities to do while we are waiting for the others to finish their task and move on to another topic.  Here is the first task that I did.

1. How old is Ricky? Ricky Baker turned 13 years old when he was at the farm and now he is a teenager.

2. Describe what he looks like. Ricky Baker is a fat kid, he wears multiple jackets at he same time. He has a long hair.

3. Explain what Ricky is interested in and how he spends his time. He likes listening to raps, he loves playing with his dog called Tupac.

4. What are some of the things that Ricky worries about? He is worried about going to the juvenile, he is also worried about getting taken by the foster care. Identify and explain an example from the film.

The Last Day Of My Life

 Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about our task the 100 word challenge! We read our book for 20 minutes and we looked for some interesting words that we haven't seen or don't know what means yet. I picked Broad, Ivory and governing. These words are really interesting for me because it is my first time hearing them. Our next task is to make a 100 word story with the 3 words in it. I wrote the story in my book and now I'm going to be transferring it to my blog. The title of my book is " The Last Day Of My Life. Here it is: I think it's the last day of my life, I'm a big thief. I tried to steal  Ivory because I knew it will change my life if I sold it for good price. In my era today, there are a lot of thieves. Thieves are governing the whole world. Half of the world are robot cops, every time they would see someone they would shoot them. I got caught, when I looked behind me there was a guy that was very big and broad. I got up, there was lasers pointing at my head. It was the last thing I saw.

ESOL 23 march 2021

 321 RIQ. It's what we should put and do on our blogs. The first one is 3R which means 3 Recalls. Recall means what we remember and that's what we put on. The next one is 2I, It means 2 insights. Insight is what we learnt and understand we need to put 2 insights on our blog. The last one is 1Q, which means 1 question. 1 question I have about something I didn't understand or still want to know more about.  So 3 recalls, three things that I remember is doing the hot potato, we write one word and pass the paper, we tried to make a good story using the hot potato method. It turned our really bad, there was a lot of negative in it like the words gay and bisexual. Another one that I can remember is making a story use letters a to z for example you first letter is a and the next letter is b. It keeps going on like the alphabet and you need to make a story using it. The last one that I can remember is reading the hot potato stories, with the negative it still was really funny but our teacher didn't like some of it. I learnt to cooperate more with others and I also gained confidence by talking to new friends. Have you played hot potato before? SEXXXY Pharagraph

Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about Hunt for the Wilder people. I did a SEXXXY paragraph about it but I did more. Here is what I did: In the movie hunt for the wilder people, long shots and the two shots are used really well. The two shots demonstrated when Ricky was talking to hec and when they were doing some actions. The long shots were used when they showed Ricky standing then Hec and Bella standing in the background. When Bella died Hec and Ricky got more furious with each other,  Ricky Baker is a really dangerous kid, he burns stuff, graffiti walls and break mail posts, he was a foster child, he is the main character in the story or the protagonist, he doesn’t care about anything or anyone because he is alone in life, he is 13 years old, one of his best friends died, he’s got a dog on his birthday - it’s he’s 1st birthday that got celebrated. Bella is the aunty, she has a husband named Hec. She hunts wild animals like wild boars, she doesn't have any conflicts with anyone. 

 Bella died in Ricky’s third day on the house, she has a cool sense of humor, she grew up in the bush, she believes that when she dies she will go somewhere, she is another protagonist, she loves ricky, they couldn’t have their own baby. 

Hec is the uncle, he is always grumpy. He always has a conflict with Ricky because he doesn’t like him, he was in jail for manslaughter, he isn’t welcome, he can’t read, after Bella passed away he went into a darker mood, he had a dog called Zag. Hec tried to eliminate Ricky by choking him. They had a 3 day break, they ate food that nature provides like fish, eels  and vegetables.  This creates a conflict because they are getting chased by the government and it will make them run away or get away slowly.  Ricky made a wooden supporter for Hec’s leg, they walked and walked till they came over to a cabin. They went in and they were some supplies, they took some and put it in their bags. They were found by some hunters and they tried to take them. 

Ricky settling on - Ricky settling on on the farm was a really big conflict for him. I think this is because when he was in the city there were more fun things to do rather than being on a farm. He was taken to this family because they wanted a kid or daughter, and also because of his crimes like theft, vandalism and graffiti.  On his first day when he was there he was really bored and couldn’t do anything. Ricky is a Tupac loving kid. On his first day with the family they ate some pie and Ricky thought it was good. They all went to bed, Ricky couldn’t sleep and he had an Idea. He tried to get away but only got 200 yards away. 

Ricky burning the barn-  Ricky was trying to run away from Hec, this all happened after Bella died. He made a replica of himself using his clothes, and for the head he used a watermelon. He burnt the replica and it catched on fire, there was a lot of dead grass or hei on the flood and the fire spread quickly. He ran away as fast as he could because if Hec sees him he knows he will kill him. He got to the bush and he didn’t know what to do. He was starving and he was imagining things like there were food. He saw some fried chicken but it was Hec. He was apologizing as hard as he can to Hec and he said that to move on.  We also made a google slide, we wrote in some key ideas and it is what helped us do the SEXXXY paragraphs.
