Parihaka Story.

Hello readers today I'm going to be making a new blog post about Parihaka. We we're reading a book called Remember That November. Maori people we're having a normal life beside the Mt. Taranaki. Maori people got to jail because of the British, they offered a small amount of money to the Maori people and tried to take their land. There wore and held feathers, this was a symbol of peace. They didn't was to sell the land, what they did broke the law and they we're all took to jail.
The European was greeted by children playing games. What they found instead was the Maori people expecting a fight. This is very sad because they got to jail and they got their land taken. We we're watching a video about a school trip, they went to see the Mt. Taranaki and went to the jail where the Maori people went. They did haka, they sang for their ancestors. They said that they we're feeling their ancestors, they we're crying, thinking of what happened to their ancestors.

What is Passive Resistance?

It is the of trying to achieve social change without the use of violence. Like the Maori people did, they held the feathers and wore them. They tried to negotiate peacefully but they we're taken to prison. Ghandi Inspired the people all over the world including United States Of America. Martin Luther King was nineteen when he was Assigned to do the job. What he did was non violent and non resistant. King learnt about Ghandi through his writing and when he went to India. A testament to the revolutionary power of non violence or peace.
